Head Department’s Message
Welcome to the Department of Forest Management, Faculty of Forestry and Environment, IPB-University, one of the top universities in Indonesia. In 2021, according to the QS World University Ranking by Subject in Agriculture and Forestry, IPB University ranked first in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. For the same subject, IPB University ranks 10th in Asia and 62nd in the world.
The Department of Forest Management is located on the IPB-University Forestry Campus in west Bogor Regency, about 12 kilometers from the Botanical Garden, which has a large collection of floral species. The Department of Forest Management is mandated for developing the science, technology, and policies required for ecosystem-based forest management planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Department of Forest Management offers undergraduate (bachelor/S1) and graduate (master/S2 and doctoral/S3) forestry education in the fields of forest management: forest management planning, socio-economic and political forestry, and the utilization of forest resources.
Since 2017, the Department of Forest Management has received a certificate of ISO 9001:2015: Quality Management Systems-Requirements. The Forest Management Study Program for Bachelors (undergraduate program) has been accredited as an excellent study program (grade A) by the National Accreditation Agency for Universities, also grade “A” for the Master of Science Program, and grade “B” for the PhD Program.
We commit to striving for management quality and education quality continuously to adapt to the fast changes in the future of forestry.
